Cool Concrete Creations
On our site, we love everything that looks great and sophisticated. After all, the concrete, apparently is the new black. When it comes to concrete countertops is heavy, looks expensive, and makes your kitchen looks like it was carved into a mountain into a temple without age, designed for the worship of food.
What is granite, you may ask. Yes, yes, granite is everywhere today day. Granite has become the song on the radio you've heard 10,000 times too many. It seems that everyone either has, or want a granite countertop in kitchen. Not me wrong, granite countertops are beautiful, it's just "2008" and the concrete is gaining popularity. (Plus it's slightly cheaper)
I recently took a trip to a local concrete / marble specialist to discover some very interesting facts in particular:
- Concrete countertops can keep hot pots and cons of marijuana – do not push. If left to long it can burn the surface. Always err on the side caution.
- Concrete is almost as hard as granite. Why this issue is an issue for ages, but at least I can say know this fact.
- However difficult it is concrete, it is also incredibly sweet. Yes, it's true, I said, and I'm not skitzophenic. Not is going on here arguing with me. More specifically, the smooth concrete counters – as babies on soft bottoms. He is so sweet, in fact, that some people have coined the nickname rubbing stone "concrete because once you start you can not stop rubbing. It's crazy, really.
Now most of the horror stories that you probably have heard of concrete are unfortunately true. Can be deformed, it can crack, and it is a choice temperamental. Best how to avoid these problems is very good for a particular purpose contractor. To ensure that you have found the right company for the work you need to know:
- How long have done the work?
- Who do we work? (Want proof)
- What are the guarantees against cracking, discoloration, distortion, etc..?
- Do you have a showroom? A room exhibition is really the key, you will have the opportunity to review their work in detail.
- Is your door open at any time to download and view your progress? It is also important to reach trust your contractor.
Therefore, if the concrete is, in fact, new black, what are the advantages of this area that seems so temperamental?
- is sterile.
- is incredibly easy to clean and maintain
- If done correctly is very functional and sustainable
- Quality Contractors can make repairs, and most repairs are made at the hearing.
- It looks good with blood!
The desire to do "and not:
Do your prefabricated housing. Do not ask the contractor to go home to actors and work – can be very dirty and in most cases, machines that need is not very portable.
Do not hit the books portfolio and pick something up, you can use as a starting point. Do not just an existing model.
Do not work with the contractor. Get your design goals in mind and explain, and then communicate these ideas to the contractor – using Image pre-existing – to decide your best bet. Do not get drunk the night before a contractor, begins in your project.
Remember, concrete is a melt so you can get just about any design you want. If you think that an integrated receiver is an idea, you can. For soap depressions, they can do. If you have something unique that you want to fit into top, (I knife, recessed lights, etc..) Provide suggestions to the contractor and that it would fit a for everything. There is virtually no limit to what can be done with concrete ceilings. (It will not bake a cake, however.)
