How can I seal the area where vinyl siding meets a concrete patio?
My house is built on a slab and near the front entrance, the siding goes all the way down and meets the concrete slab. Right along the seam, the concrete has started to crumble away ( I think it was already patched at some point in the past) and whatever caulking was used to seal the seam, seems to be wearing out. So, how do I repair this? Do I need to level it out with concrete and then caulk it? What kind of caulk or sealant should I use? Thanks!
You could use concrete or concrete ‘patch’ that comes in a tube like caulk. I would use the patch as it is ’stickier’ and won’t just crumble away after a year or so.
There should have been a starter strip as a first piece – I piece of fibercement or pvc that meets the concrete, in between the concrete and the first piece of siding.
