In 2000, the U S operations of Tarmac was aquired by Titan America. Today Tarmac employs more than 700 people throughout Florida at its ready-mixed concrete, concrete block and sand & transportation facilities. Our customers, operate in all sectors of the construction industry, including specifiers, contractors, developers, municipalities, military, and home builders.

Titan America group is one of the premier cement and building materials producers in the Eastern United States. Best known by our companies: Essex Cement LLC, Roanoke Cement LLC, Separation Technologies LLC and Tarmac America LLC, Titan Virginia Ready-Mix LLC and Titan Florida Cement and Aggregates, Titan America operations include cement plants, ready-mix concrete plants, concrete block plants, quarries, import and rail terminals and fly ash production facilities. In 2006, Titan America's revenues were approximately $900 million.

Titan America is part of the overall Titan Group of companies, whose ultimate parent is Titan Cement Company S.A., based in Athens, Greece. Titan Cement Company S.A. was founded in 1902 and listed on the Athens Stock Exchange ten years later. Since then the Titan Group has established an international presence, owning and operating production facilities in many countries around the world. The Titan Group’s primary objective is to be recognized as a leader in the world market for construction materials, combining business efficiency and competitiveness with respect for the individual, society and the environment.

TITAN Group’s assets include:

  • 11 cement production facilities, with an annual capacity of 14 million tons. Of these facilities, four are located in Greece, two in the USA (Virginia and Florida), three in Southeastern Europe (Bulgaria, Serbia and FYROM) and two in the Middle East (Egypt).
  • Seven cement distribution centers - two in the USA, two in Egypt and one each in Italy, France and the UK.
  • 67 ready-mix concrete facilities (annual capacity 4 million cubic meters).
  • 11 quarries and three mines (17m tons)
  • One mortar production facility (INTERMIX)
  • One china tableware factory (IONIA S.A.)

The Titan Group has an annual cement production capacity of six million tons in Greece and a market share of around 40%. The Titan Group's annual production capacity outside of Greece is another eight million tons.
